"Lord Zhou is not dead!" 0

Zhao Mingyuan rushed into the Qintian Observatory's office. Liu Ying was sorting through three lenses when she looked up, surprised. "What?" 0

"We just discovered that the one who committed suicide out of guilt was merely his double," Zhao Mingyuan lowered his voice. "Moreover, we've found out that he has set up numerous traps around The Purple Forbidden Enclosure." 0

Liu Ying's heart sank. Tomorrow is Qixi, and there will surely be a battle beneath The Purple Forbidden Enclosure. Lord Zhou is preparing for a final desperate struggle. 0

"That's not all." Zhao Mingyuan glanced around to confirm no one was listening before continuing, "The guards at North City Gate have been bribed by him. Once the situation arises, they will open the city gates to let the Rebels in." 0

"I see now." Liu Ying realized, "No wonder he has been spreading the prophecy that a Top Scholar will emerge from the north; he wants to use the scholars as a cover to allow the Rebels to infiltrate the capital!" 0

"Miss!" A Fu suddenly burst in, "Lord Zhang has summoned everyone for a meeting regarding tomorrow's calculations." 0

The atmosphere in the Council Hall was tense. Lord Zhang surveyed the crowd and said, "Do you all know that today the Emperor issued a secret decree?" 0

"What decree?" Wang Zhengdao asked eagerly. 0

"The decree orders Qintian Observatory to set up an altar for calculations under The Purple Forbidden Enclosure tomorrow on Qixi." Lord Zhang cast a meaningful glance at Liu Ying. "At that time, all officials will gather, and the Emperor himself will be present." 0

The crowd erupted in murmurs. This was clearly meant to unveil the truth before everyone's eyes! 0

"My lord," Wang Zhengdao suddenly interjected, "I suggest that tomorrow's calculations be led by Zhao Mingyuan. After all, Master Liu is young and might..." 0

"No need for that." Lord Zhang waved his hand to interrupt. "This matter has its own destiny." 0

After the meeting adjourned, Su Jinzhi intercepted Liu Ying. "Be careful; Wang Zhengdao must have a scheme. I've found out he has deep ties with Lord Zhou." 0

"I know," Liu Ying nodded. "But some situations require us to enter them in order to break them." 0

"You..." Su Jinzhi hesitated but finally sighed, "Just be extra cautious. If there's danger, remember this." He handed her a small porcelain vial. "It can counteract a hundred poisons." 0

As night fell, Liu Ying arrived alone at the Observatory. The bright moon hung high, and the stars within The Purple Forbidden Enclosure shifted ominously, foreshadowing significant events for tomorrow. 0

"Just as I expected." A voice came from behind her—Lord Zhou stepped out of the shadows, stripped of his former authority but with madness gleaming in his eyes. 0

"What do you mean, Lord Zhou?" Liu Ying turned around, secretly on guard. 0

"What do I mean?" Lord Zhou sneered. "The evidence from that Great Fire twenty years ago has been burned away; what are you still fantasizing about?" 0

"Is that so?" Liu Ying smiled faintly. "Then why has Lord Zhou been searching for the whereabouts of the Bronze Mirror all these years?" 0

"You!" Lord Zhou's expression changed dramatically. 0

"Because you know that my father hid the evidence within that mirror." Xu Yuan emerged from the shadows, standing protectively in front of Liu Ying. "Once all four pieces of the mirror are united, your collusion with the Rebels will be exposed for all to see!" 0

"Nonsense!" Lord Zhou shouted sharply, but a hint of panic flashed in his eyes. "Bring them here!" 0

From the darkness emerged several assassins, surrounding the Observatory. 0

"Liu Ying," Xu Yuan opened his folding fan, "none of these people can leave alive tonight." 0

Lord Zhou appeared almost frantic. "Kill them all!" 0

The assassins surged forward, and Xu Yuan opened his fan to shield Liu Ying as they fought and retreated. Just then, a horn sounded in the distance. 0

"This is bad!" Lord Zhou's expression changed drastically. He clearly recognized it as the horn of the Imperial City Division. 0

"Lord Zhou," Xu Yuan sneered, "it seems your plan is about to fail. The guards at North City Gate have already been taken over by the Imperial City Division." 0

"Impossible!" Lord Zhou's face turned ashen. "I have been planning this for so many years..." 0

"Twenty years ago, you were able to harm my father only because you colluded with those traitors," Xu Yuan stepped closer. "But this time, do you really think the Emperor will give you another chance?" 0

A flicker of madness crossed Lord Zhou's eyes. "Even so, you won't leave here alive tonight!" 0
