The Purple Forbidden Enclosure stood majestically, with the Bronze Observatory looming nearby. As noon approached, civil and military officials lined up on either side, while groups of scholars stood neatly beneath the observation platform. Liu Ying, dressed in formal official robes, stood before the calculation table, where four Bronze Mirror Pieces flickered with a faint light.
"The time has come," Lord Zhang announced loudly.
Liu Ying took a deep breath and arranged the four lenses according to Mr. Yu Ming's instructions. The mirror surfaces suddenly gleamed under the sunlight, reflecting an extraordinary light.
"Tai Bai is in the sky, and the guest star enters the Purple Forbidden Enclosure," she said solemnly. "This is a sign from our benefactor."
"Hmph." Wang Zhengdao stepped forward abruptly. "How does Master Liu determine that it must come from the north?"
"Please look," Liu Ying pointed to the horizon. "Though Venus is currently dim and hard to see, its position is precisely due north in the sky. Meanwhile, within the Purple Forbidden Enclosure, the guest star is moving towards the northern wall."
Before her words had faded, an unusual phenomenon occurred in the sky. Venus became clearly visible in the sunlight, just as it had been during Xu Shu's observations years ago.
"Everyone, please look into the mirrors," Liu Ying said as she brought the four mirrors together. A beam of light projected onto the calculation table, revealing a series of numbers and characters.
"This is..." Lord Zhang leaned in for a closer look. "It is precisely the astronomical records left by Master Xu twenty years ago!"
"Not only that," Liu Ying pointed to a specific location. "Look at this position; it perfectly matches today's trajectory of Venus."
The crowd buzzed with discussion. At that moment, a scholar suddenly knelt down. "Your Majesty, I have something to report."
"Speak," the Emperor replied.

The Emperor nodded in satisfaction. "Issue an edict commanding Xu Yuan to set out immediately for the Northern Frontier to oversee military affairs. Liu Ying will accompany him to establish an observatory there to assist with border defense."
"I accept the decree," both of them knelt simultaneously.
"Your Majesty!" Wang Zhengdao attempted to say something further when suddenly the Empress interjected: "If Lord Wang does not believe it, he may certainly discuss it after the palace examination."
The crowd erupted in applause. At that moment, another scholar stepped forward: "May I ask Master Liu if this study of celestial phenomena truly can predict fortune and misfortune?"
"Tian Ji is profound," Liu Ying gazed at the horizon. "But it is human hearts striving for goodness that truly matters."
After dispersing, Luo Yunzhi pulled Zhang Yunfeng aside to offer congratulations. Su Jinzhi also presented a box of calming medicine: "Take care on your journey."
"You should take care of yourselves too." Liu Ying looked at these friends who knew each other well, and felt warm in her heart.
