Yang Yulan was left speechless by Li Qiang's question. The words she had almost spoken were suddenly swallowed back down.
Without saying a word, she turned her bike and rode off...
"Hey... Aunt... don't go!" Li Qiang panicked when he saw Yang Yulan leaving on her bike and hurried after her.
At that moment, Yang Yulan felt both embarrassed and angry. She was embarrassed that Li Qiang knew what she wanted to say, and angry for the same reason. This woman was indeed quite contradictory!

The Village Committee wasn't very large, just a few small houses, but compared to Li Qiang's home, it was much better.
When Li Qiang arrived at the Village Committee, he saw Yang Yulan already busy there. At the same time, he noticed a petite figure.
What the heck? Isn't that Ge Qianqian, the village chief's daughter? What is she doing here? And she's helping out too.
Ge Qianqian was the daughter of Ge Tianbao, the Secretary of Nanping Village. She was the same age as Li Qiang but had an air of pride about her. Moreover, she had developed quite well; her oval face was delicate, and her skin was fair and smooth—definitely not like a typical farmer's daughter.
They were classmates and had gone to school together; even though they had graduated now, Li Qiang still harbored some vague feelings for her.
After all, being young meant it was natural to like pretty girls with good grades.
Li Qiang often tried to get on Ge Qianqian's good side, but she hardly paid him any attention, which drove him crazy. After a while, he developed a petty grudge against her. What if she was pretty? It didn’t mean anything! Who knows, maybe one day he could end up on top of her!
"Well well, if it isn't Miss Ge! You’re here to work too? Wow, did the sun rise from the west today?" Li Qiang said sarcastically while looking up at the sun with an annoying grin.
Yang Yulan glanced at Ge Qianqian and then back at Li Qiang, finding it amusing. This kid really knew how to be snarky; Ge Qianqian hadn’t even provoked him! But thinking about what Li Qiang had just said made her blush. She huffed lightly and said, "Qiang Zi, why aren't you getting to work? Qianqian is just experiencing life; why do you have to say such mean things?"
Ge Qianqian maintained a cold demeanor throughout, seemingly oblivious to Li Qiang's words.
Yet this very attitude filled Li Qiang with frustration. Damn it, this girl was just insufferable.
He wanted to say something, but a single glance from Yang Yulan silenced him.
Forget it, she’s the daughter of the Secretary; who am I to say anything? I might end up getting on her bad side!
The three of them busied themselves with various tasks, and before they knew it, it was already past eleven o'clock. Several village officials had arrived early, but they were now waiting at the entrance for the Commissioner to come down.
“Aunt Yulan, let me get you a big basin of water. It must be hot cooking!” Although Ge Qianqian was cold towards boys, she was still a genuinely good girl.
Yang Yulan smiled and thanked her while wiping her sweat.
Seeing this, Li Qiang followed her outside. The Village Committee had dug a well, and Ge Qianqian likely wanted to fetch water from it. Noticing that she seemed decent enough, he decided to accompany her, hoping to help in some way.
“I’ll help you!”
From a distance, Li Qiang spotted Ge Qianqian’s delicate figure at the well. She appeared to be struggling, prompting him to quicken his pace toward her.
“Oh no…” she cried out as she fell to the ground, the water bucket tipping over and spilling most of its contents all over her. The well water remained at a constant temperature underground year-round, making it feel particularly icy during the scorching summer.
Soaked by the frigid water, Ge Qianqian couldn’t help but let out a soft cry, her eyes reddening slightly.
Li Qiang was startled and quickly scrambled to his feet, using his hands to wipe the cold water off her while repeatedly apologizing, “I’m sorry!”
However, his voice soon trailed off.
Ge Qianqian was wearing a sky blue light chiffon dress that was already thin; now drenched in well water, the fabric clung tightly to her body. The outline of her fair skin, pink lace panties, and undergarments were clearly visible.
As Li Qiang helped her wipe off the cold water, his hands inevitably brushed against Ge Qianqian's skin and the curves of her chest…
“Ah… how shameless…”

He had let it slip. The atmosphere between them instantly froze!
Yang Yulan blushed as she looked at Li Qiang, her mind racing with thoughts.
“You… what are you talking about? Aunt is so much older than you; how could you possibly like Aunt?” Although she denied it, there was a hint of curiosity in Yang Yulan's voice. Her eyes sparkled with anticipation as they gazed at Li Qiang, nervously awaiting his response…
