Early the next morning, as the eastern sky was still turning a pale white, Li Qiang and Li Yufeng quietly got out of bed.
“Aunt, aren’t we going to call Su Yan?” Li Qiang asked while brushing his teeth under the eaves.
Li Yufeng had already started preparing breakfast. Upon hearing Li Qiang's question, she couldn't help but roll her eyes at him. “You silly boy, your Su Yan is a city girl. How could she possibly wake up this early? And with the weather being so hot, do you really want her to join us in the sun? If her skin gets tanned, you’ll be the one to pay for it!”
Li Qiang thought about it and realized he was being a bit too serious. If he ended up darkening Su Yan's delicate, fair skin, he would feel terrible.
“Hey, Aunt Feng, why didn’t you call me when you got up? If I hadn’t heard you two making noise, I might have slept in!” Just then, Qin Su Yan walked out of her room!
Seeing Qin Su Yan in her nightgown with her hair cascading down, Li Qiang nearly lost control and rushed over to her!
At that moment, Qin Su Yan looked incredibly alluring. The creamy silk nightgown hung loosely on her body like a thin veil, perfectly showcasing her seductive figure and graceful curves. Especially the two full curves at her chest almost made Li Qiang’s eyes pop out.
She was not wearing anything underneath!
Qin Su Yan had a habit of sleeping without any underwear!
Those two prominent features nearly stole Li Qiang’s breath away!
Qin Su Yan seemed unaware of Li Qiang's strange reaction. However, Li Yufeng couldn’t help but feel her cheeks flush slightly. Fortunately, it was still dark enough that it wasn’t too noticeable. She stood up and walked over to Qin Su Yan, positioning herself in front of Li Qiang to block his view. “Su Yan, why don’t you sleep a little longer? It’s hot outside, and we don’t know how long we’ll be selling watermelons. You wouldn’t want to get sunburned!”
“Oh come on, Aunt Feng! Don’t underestimate me! I used to work all the time at school! A little sun doesn’t scare me!” Qin Su Yan replied cheerfully. “I’ll go change clothes; just wait for me!” With that, she dashed back to her room regardless of what Li Yufeng said.
“Now that she’s gone, what are you still staring at?”
Li Yufeng turned around and found Li Qiang still gazing in the direction where Qin Su Yan had left, unable to suppress her frown. There was a hint of jealousy in her expression.
“Ahem, Aunt, I wasn’t looking, really!” Li Qiang weakly protested, not daring to say more as he lowered his head and obediently dug into his meal.
To be honest, Li Qiang hadn’t slept well the previous night.
He couldn’t help but think how nice it would be if Qin Su Yan could sleep beside him. He had been with the women in the village, even the village chief’s wife, but he had no idea what the tender women from the city were like.
Qin Su Yan’s skin was so delicate; one could only imagine how soft she must be beneath. If she was that tender, surely she would be quite responsive…

Li Qiang’s home was small, with only two rooms. Initially, Li Yufeng planned for Qin Su Yan to share a bed with her, but worried that the city girl might be too particular about cleanliness and dislike sharing with her, she decided to set up a separate bed for Qin Su Yan.
She intended to place the bed in her own room; however, there were too many wardrobes and boxes cluttering her space. Reluctantly, she decided to let Qin Su Yan make do with a bed in Wu Huchen’s room instead!
However, Li Yufeng hung a floor-length curtain between their beds to provide some privacy…
In the end, Qin Su Yan still accompanied Li Qiang and Li Yufeng to the county town to sell watermelons.
The summer sun was scorching, and Li Qiang was wearing only a white tank top, which was already soaked through with sweat.
“Qiang Zi, are you hot? If you are, let’s take a break!” Seeing Li Qiang pulling a cart full of sweet potatoes, Qin Su Yan felt a pang of sympathy as she noticed the sweat dripping from his forehead.
Life was tough for rural kids. At such a young age, he was already doing such heavy labor. This cart of watermelons must weigh at least four or five hundred pounds!
“Hehe, it’s nothing, Sister! Don’t be fooled by my skinny frame; I’m actually quite strong! I once had a strength contest with an adult water buffalo!” Li Qiang seemed to sense Qin Su Yan’s genuine concern and felt a bit touched as he chuckled.

Watching this warm scene, Qin Su Yan was momentarily stunned. She knew that Li Qiang was just adopted by Li Yufeng, but she hadn’t expected that these two people, who weren’t related by blood, would share such a bond in an increasingly indifferent world.
“Aunt Feng, let’s sell them near the cinema in the south of the city. There’s an ice skating rink and plenty of residents around, plus some KTVs. The watermelons should sell well there,” Qin Su Yan suggested confidently as someone familiar with the urban environment.
“Hehe, that sounds good! Su Yan! It’s all thanks to you; otherwise, Qiang Zi and I would still be selling by the roadside. Not only is it hard to sell there, but we’d also get exhausted under the sun!” She turned to Li Qiang and said, “Qiang Zi, let’s head to the cinema that your Sister Su Yan mentioned. You know how to get there, right?”
“Sure do!” Li Qiang grinned and quickened his pace with the cart.
