As Wang Ye's car emerged from the underground garage and passed by the entrance of Jin Yi, a figure appeared in the distance—Lin Zhao Di.
She was rubbing her hands together anxiously, pacing back and forth.
I tugged at Wang Ye, "Wang Ye, do you think your mother will hit me?"
Wang Ye had initially intended to open the door for Lin Zhao Di to get in.
I grabbed his arm, "Wang Ye, do you want to remarry? Don't let your mother interfere, and I'll marry you again."
Wang Ye paused, looking at me in disbelief. "Tian Tian, are you really agreeing to remarry me?"
I lowered my gaze, concealing the emotions swirling within me. "Yes."
Wang Ye was overjoyed, reaching out to embrace me.
I leaned into his arms, a satisfied smile spreading across my face.
Wang Ye, this remarriage is just the beginning.
I will make you taste a life worse than death.
Lin Zhao Di stood outside the passenger window, frantically banging on the glass.
I met her gaze and smiled provocatively.
Lin Zhao Di's face turned pale with anger, wishing she could shatter the window.
I spoke softly, "Wang Ye, your mother isn't trying to hit me again, is she? Can you please just take me home?"
Wang Ye was captivated by my words. "Tian Tian, don't worry. I won't let Mother hurt you again."
He pressed a button and locked the car doors.
Lin Zhao Di was left outside, fuming.
She stomped her feet and shouted angrily, "You little brat! If you dare to be with this shameless girl, I will disown you as my son!"
Wang Ye ignored her completely and pressed down on the accelerator, driving away swiftly.
At the entrance of my apartment building, I stopped. "Wang Ye, you can drop me off here."
He nodded. "Alright, I'll walk you upstairs."
He followed me into the elevator, pressing the button for my floor with familiarity.
I lowered my gaze to hide the disgust in my eyes.
Wang Ye still didn't know about Wang Ping buying a house.
He thought I was still renting the same place.
As the elevator doors opened, I quickly stepped out and said, "It's too late; I won't invite you in."
Wang Ye chuckled, "I miss the child too; I want to see him."
I shook my head. "Maybe next time."
I didn't want him to enter Wang Ping's home.
Nor did I want him to develop a bond with the child.
Wang Ye began to pursue me seriously.
Upscale restaurants, expensive gifts, lavish French cuisine.
He impatiently asked me, "When are we going to handle the remarriage paperwork?"
I held my wine glass and smiled lightly. "What's the rush? Let's wait a bit longer."
Wang Ye grew anxious. "Wait again? Didn't you say that as long as I agreed to your conditions, you would immediately go with me to remarry?"
I blinked. "When did I ever say that?"
"Wang Ye, you know how important Jin Yi's job is to me."
"I took a huge risk to return to the human resources field."
"What if you're just lying to me? After we remarry, what if you let your mother interfere again? What will I do then? I have no security for myself or the children, and my current job is unstable. How can I trust you unless you transfer the marriage house to me?"
Wang Ye looked troubled. "But..."
I set down my glass, feeling despondent. "I know that in your heart, your mother is still more important than I am."
"Otherwise, why wouldn't you be willing to transfer the marriage house to me?"
Wang Ye's expression grew pained. "Tian Tian, the marriage house was bought by my parents before they got married. It's not just in my name; it's also in Mother's."
I smiled faintly. "Then just find an excuse to remove her name first."
Wang Ye became anxious. "It's not that easy!"
I lowered my gaze, hiding the coldness in my eyes. "Wang Ye, you know I almost died giving birth."
"I'm someone who lacks a sense of security; you have to give me some assurance."
Wang Ye fell silent.
I took hold of his hand, tears welling up as I began to perform. "Wang Ye, I really want to remarry you and give our two babies a complete home."
"But you know, when I was giving birth, I almost died there."
"You wouldn't understand that feeling of being on the brink of death."
"I'm really afraid that one day I'll just suddenly die."
Wang Ye sighed, "Stop overthinking it."
I looked up, tears welling in my eyes, "How can I not overthink?"
"Wang Ye, do you know how I've been getting through these past few months since we broke up?"
"I couldn't sleep for nights on end. Every time I closed my eyes, I had nightmares about dying on the operating table."
"I dreamed of you moving into our wedding house with another woman, dreaming of her hitting our baby."
"Wang Ye, will you promise me?"
Wang Ye finally agreed.
