"Your guess is correct; that red fiber is indeed a composite material from the carpet." 0

Wei Jiawei took a few deep breaths, trying to calm his rapid breathing from the earlier sprint. After regaining his composure, he continued, "Unfortunately, the quality of the surveillance footage from that yard is just too poor. The daytime images are barely acceptable, but once night falls, everything becomes blurry and indistinguishable. There are no useful clues in the footage from the night of the incident." He shook his head helplessly, frustration evident on his face. 0

"It seems Qi Fangyu really wasn't truthful. Interesting. Are you interested in checking it out?" 0

A glimmer of excitement flashed in Xiao Ying's eyes as she looked at Wei Jiawei, her lips curling into a confident smile. 0

"Go again? Didn't Officer Zhao tell you not to act alone?" Wei Jiawei frowned, concern etched on his face as he gazed at her. 0

"Uncle Zhao just said to notify him before I take action. How could your memory have deteriorated so much?" 0

Xiao Ying shot him a teasing glance, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Besides, I'm just going to pay a visit; it's not a major operation. What could possibly happen?" She waved her hand dismissively. 0

"Xiao Ying, I really think I shouldn't go." 0

Xi Yue lowered her head slightly, her voice barely above a whisper, her hands nervously tugging at the hem of her shirt, fear evident in her eyes. 0

Understanding her apprehension, Xiao Ying gently patted her shoulder. She knew that facing Qi Fangyu would require immense courage from Xi Yue and decided not to push her further. 0

Then Xiao Ying turned to Wei Jiawei, a questioning look in her eyes. "What about you? Of course, you can choose not to go." 0

As she spoke, a hint of cunning flashed in her gaze, which Wei Jiawei caught immediately. 0

He stared at Xiao Ying, holding his ground for a moment before finally letting out a gentle sigh, as if resigned to his fate. He stood up and said, "If anything happens to you, I won't be able to explain it to Officer Zhao. Let's go." 0

"Qi Fangyu seems to have gone out," Wei Jiawei said, hurriedly approaching with a phone in hand. "The officer who was monitoring him just followed him, but it looks like he only went out to buy some daily necessities. Nothing suspicious has been found." 0

"Do you really think he would just walk out carrying a body?" Xiao Ying shot him a sidelong glance, her tone laced with sarcasm as the corners of her mouth curled up in a slight, disdainful smile. 0

Wei Jiawei helplessly tilted his head back to look at the sky, pouting slightly as he muttered, "When will you learn to speak without personal attacks?" 0

Xiao Ying beamed at him, her eyes sparkling. "I just like stating the facts." 0

She reached out and gently patted Wei Jiawei's shoulder. "Since Qi Fangyu isn't here, let's not wait around foolishly. Can you take me to Fan Wei's house?" 0

Fan Wei's home was in the same building as Qi Fangyu's, a simple one-bedroom design. 0

Upon entering the apartment, it appeared quite messy; clothes were haphazardly draped over the arm of the sofa, and the coffee table was cluttered with various items. 0

Her husband sat slumped on the sofa, head downcast and looking listless. His eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep, and stubble had begun to grow on his chin, making him look anxious and unsettled. 0

As soon as Wei Jiawei stepped into the room and had barely steadied himself, he immediately stood up and asked urgently, "What’s going on? Is there any news about my wife?" 0

His voice was filled with hope as his gaze fixed intently on Wei Jiawei. 0

Wei Jiawei shook his head gently, his tone tinged with regret. "We're here today to gather more information." 0

Hearing Wei Jiawei's words, his gaze instantly dimmed, and disappointment was evident on his face. His voice trembled slightly, laced with a hint of agitation. "I've said everything I needed to say. You've been investigating for so long, yet there's not a single piece of news. What are the police doing?" 0

"Please don't be anxious." 0

Xiao Ying's voice gently interjected. With a warm smile on her face and soothing eyes, she continued, "Actually, we have already uncovered some leads. We're here today just to ask a few more questions to deepen our investigation. I'm sure you will cooperate with us." 0

As she spoke, she gracefully walked over to Wei Jiawei, discreetly slipping a small piece of paper into his hand. In a voice only the two of them could hear, she whispered, "Ask according to the questions on this." 0
