How could this happen?!
Su Meiniang was so frustrated that she felt like banging her head against the wall. She had genuinely gone out to rob for money!

“Big Boss, just now the brothers reported that the Corrupt Official passed by and left while you were returning to the village.”
The Second-in-Command looked at Su Meiniang with teary eyes. “Next time, let us handle things like this. You just stay in the village and command from here!”
The once-in-a-thousand-years opportunity had slipped away just like that, and Su Meiniang felt as if her insides were twisted with regret.
She glared at the culprit standing in the hall—a man with a face that could bring ruin to a nation!
“Hey, can you even do anything?” No matter how angry and frustrated she was, the man was already brought back.
According to the village rules, returning him was no longer an option.
Su Meiniang weakly moved to the main seat in the hall and asked the man named demon, who was waiting for her decision, with irritation.

“I can wash clothes, cook meals, and even kill and loot. Whatever you want me to do, just say the word.”
Seeing Su Meiniang's reaction, demon was in high spirits and squinted his eyes to finish his unfinished sentence.
“Anything you can do?” Su Meiniang rolled her eyes. “You sure talk big for a pretty boy. Fine! I want you to rob that corrupt official who just passed by and bring back some silver. Then we’ll consider you part of the team!”
“Boss, be careful; it might be a trap!” Second-in-Command, who had been standing next to Su Meiniang and was covered in tea foam, cautiously reminded her as he watched demon leave without looking back.
“I’m scared of him? With that pretty-boy face of his, what could he possibly do if I let him go?”
Su Meiniang huffed angrily, her cheeks puffed up. She cursed herself for being so easily fooled by this good-for-nothing and wasting a golden opportunity that had come knocking at her door!
“Boss! He—he’s back!”
The urgent knocking on the door startled Su Meiniang from her midday nap. She jumped up like a frightened rabbit, sleepily glaring at the door while shouting, “Speak slowly! Who’s back? Is it that corrupt official?”
Su Meiniang was taking a nap when she happened to dream of that Corrupt Official who had taken a wrong turn and ended up being caught by her and her brothers.
She pondered in her heart, could it be that her sweet dream was coming true?
"No, it's the one that you, Big Boss, brought back," Second-in-Command said, perhaps too excited, stumbling over his words and stamping his feet in frustration. "Oh dear, you should come out and see for yourself!"
