Book Synopsis
The night was cold, and my thin shirt was soaked by the autumn rain. Abao and I huddled together, shivering beside a haystack in the wilderness. Occasionally, the howls of wild dogs echoed in the distance. The wooden stick in my hand could scare off the vicious dogs, but it couldn't alleviate our hunger and cold.
With the chilling rain and biting wind, at that moment, even the waning moon and cold stars felt like a luxury.
